Reasons to Conserve

Use the following links for different perspectives:

 Health Impacts:

  • Warm weather has created ideal conditions for spreading infectious diseases such as Dengue Fever, Malaria, Cholera and Encephalitis; which could result in death of millions of people.

  • Climate stress on agriculture could result in 300 million more victims of malnutrition.

  • Extreme floods and droughts are expected which could diminish the availability of safe drinking water or lead to diseases.

  Something to think about:

In Chicago during the summer of 1995, 700 people died. There are also predictions that by 2020 global warming could cause 145% rise in mortality in NY City.
