Water Conservation

Usage Reduction
• Low-flow plumbing fixtures
• Alternatives to water cooled equipment

Campus Operations
• Smart irrigation, leave collection
• Minimum use of road salt, pesticides, herbicides

Water Re-use
• Green roofs, rain gardens, rain water collection
• Drought resistant and native plantings

Storm Water Management
• Pervious paving in parking lots and sidewalks
• Storm water impacts on lakes & watersheds

  Accomplishments

• Replacement of many water cooled air conditioning systems with more energy efficient alternatives

• Controlled watering of campus lawns, trees, and flowerbeds

• On-going enhancement of the campus’ storm water management programs by FP&M

• Green roofs on several campus buildings
